چکیده

The chapter sets the stage describing the background of real-time system in general and its computing intensive component in particular. The chapter describes basic definitions and concepts as related to the nature of real time systems, the development environment for typical real-time systems, selected issues related to the real-time programming and the accepted standards. The main objective of the chapter is to level out the playing field and allow for a smooth start for an unprepared reader.

Draft Safety Checklist for Four-Variable Requirements Methods

This paper organizes safety criteria, as given by Leveson, Ja e, Heimdahl, Melhart, and Lutz, as a safety checklist for use on four-variable requirements models for real-time process-control systems. Special attention is given to the Software Productivity Consortium CoRE and Naval Research Laboratory SCR requirements speci cations built on the four-variable model. The criteria are presented in ...

Model-driven Engineering Metrics for Real Time Systems

As with other software development processes, model-driven engineering of real time software systems include quality assurance and measurement. Model-driven engineering (MDE) supports the development of real-time software systems by means of a set of languages, processes, methods and tools. To measure the models, a dedicated measurement software has to be developed, which is costly. In this pap...

Final Draft the Chimera Methodology : Designing Dynamically Reconfigurable and Reusable Real - Time Software Using Port - Based Objects 1

The Chimera Methodology is a software engineering paradigm that enables rapid development of real-time applications through use of dynamically reconfigurable and reusable software. It is targeted towards a distributed shared memory computing environment. The primary contribution of this research is the port-based object model of a real-time software component. The model is obtained by applying ...

Aspects Using a Graph Rewrite System - A Typical Experience ? ! -

This position paper weighs the bene ts against the problems of using a graph rewrite system for the formal speci cation of an integrated software engineering model and for its implementation using the same graph rewrite system. The integrated software engineering approach, called GRIDS , has been motivated by the shortcomings of software engineering support for real-life software projects. It i...

OBM 7 - draft 09 / 02 / 00 1 Domain Engineering And Variability In The Reuse - Driven Software

Effective systematic software reuse requires a coherent approach to structuring architecture, process and organization. In previous columns, Ivar Jacobson and I summarize[1,2,3] our approach to extending Ivar’s Objectoriented Software Engineering process (OOSE)[4] for large-scale, systematic reuse. We call our approach the “Reuse-Driven Software Engineering Business” (RSEB), described in greate...
